Wednesday Wanderings With the Birds { and a Giveaway}

Well we have been happily riding the "Pineapple Express" out here on the prairies. The weather has been amazing! On Sunday we were actually warmer than Phoenix Arizona with a high of 17 C. Nevertheless I'm a little wary about how long this gorgeous weather will last. Somehow I think we will get a good punch of winter when we least expect it...I'm ever the optimist ;)

The weather has also encouraged the birds to make their appearance out a our bird feeders. We have our standard feeder that attracts our usual chickadees, but the girls and I made some new, easy feeders which I found at this wonderful site Mud puddles to Meteors  All of a sudden we had blue jays, nuthatches, woodpeckers and whisky jacks visiting us! What a fabulous nature study we had!
Our carrot bird-feeders are finished, so I think we will be making some more to see what other kinds of birds we can attract with this warm streak of weather. Who knew? Warm weather and peanut butter is a great combination to attract our little feathered friends.
