I'm joining in this week again with the
The Canadian Homeschooler and
Homeschool Canada for their weekly photo challenge. This week its all about Nature and Nature Studies.
Well? Where do I even start? I guess this post is a bit of a walk down memory lane for me. I could not post all the pictures that I've taken from all of our nature walks throughout the years. Since our homeschooling adventure began 11 years ago, I've always tried to incorporate some sort of nature studies into our homeschooling routine.

Nine years of our homeschooling has been in the big city. Around the Calgary area, we were very lucky to be blessed with great parks to really enjoy nature.
We've also tried to incorporate Nature Studies when we've been away on vacation.

Now, that we've moved from the city, to the country, our Nature Studies has expanded to our VAST backyard and area. We've enjoyed just exploring everything out this way; whether it be a wetland, biking distance from us, or a creek on our property, or the little woods behind the house. Nature is just a soothing balm for this family. When we study it, we don't look at it as "school". It's just a way of life for us...just like homeschooling...a natural rhythm of life.
Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI came over to see your blog post and thought it was funny we did a similar "look at the past" type blog post!!
Thanks so much for joining in!
ReplyDeleteWOW - those leaves are humungous!
Looks like your kidlets get a great chance to learn about nature and have a lot of fun doing it too!
