Common Ground

As the children get older, I notice our lives get busier and busier. The busy-ness comes in waves; but when it comes and washes us ashore, we find ourselves battered, bruised and tired, as the tides recede.

In the course of living out here, the one thing I am learning, we need to renew, regroup and just be...
We need to find common ground so we can set forth together, and not lose each other midst everyday demands and cacophony of busy work.

Nature studies/nature walks are a way for us to refresh and find that common ground. For us, its a way to reconnect...just time to talk and find each other. Each season has a different perspective, and so do our walks, but we are making our discoveries together...as a family.

We aren't the only ones using the foot bridge across the creek

Looks like someone's home

Maybe a bird? Maybe a squirrel

The path less taken...

Oh...Hello Aladdin!

Weathered and beaten wasps nest

Squirrel or bird nest?
