A New Year...

It's hard to believe it's September already! Somehow the summer months, as quiet as they were for us this year, flew by fast. With so many new uncharted paths this school year, I wanted to cherish this summer and all the moments with my growing family. The dynamics are changing now that the kids are older. I'm trying to ease into this new role as a mom of teens and a tween. I'm holding a lot close to my heart right now as this new season of motherhood unfolds.

This year, Devin begins his own journey and his own unwritten chapter at university. Homeschooling Devin is a memory now, but I hope for him it was a good memory. He is enrolled at Mount Royal University in the Kinesiology program. His aspiration is to be an athletic therapist. The last two days have been a little hard on this momma heart. Even though Devin is still at home... he's not. He will be fine...I know...sigh...

Christian begins Grade 11 this year. This boy has so many dreams and aspirations too. We've tweaked his whole year, and he's fast on the trail of his big brother wanting to do well and join him in two years at university. He's turned into a fun, yet serious young man. I can't wait to see the adventure that unfolds this year for him!

This is where I have to give my head a shake! Sophie is in her last year of junior high this year! Grade 9! Next year, I'll hand over the reins to the online teachers at our school board for senior high, so my goal is to have THE BEST year with her EVER!

Here's another shocker! Emilie starts Grade 7 this year! Whaaat!!! Yup! The baby is in junior high too! Elementary studies are a thing of the past now. Time to step up and have some fun with this girl.

So a new year begins. New plans, new outlooks...new...everything. Here's to new beginnings! Drop me a line and let me know how your new year looks.

  1. Can't we stop time. When my older two were younger I could not wait until my kids were big and thought of all the things I would do with them. I am learning not to rush time and to enjoy each day I have with them. Every stage is so very special. I have talked to many who have grown kids and they all say the best days are the days when kids are young and living at home. Thank you for sharing and reminding me that I need to cherish today. I need to play, cuddle, carry my 4 year old, put those little shoes on my younger one because soon they will be too big and I'll miss it too much. :)
