In Need of a Graduation Present?

My oldest child is graduating this year from high-school. BAM....12 years of homeschooling..done like that, in a flash!!!

Devin: Kindergarten

Devin: Grade 12

I've been wracking my brain the last few months on a memento I could create for him to remember the last 12 years. What serendipitous timing when Lisa Marie  from The Canadian Homeschooler mentioned the idea of creating yearbooks with Picaboo It could not have come at a better time. Instead of making a memory book just for our individual year, I undertook the daunting task of documenting the last 12 years of Devin's homeschooling journey.

I opened up a free account on Picaboo, and within 2 days I had our local representative call me and ask if I needed any assistance or if I had any questions. What great customer service!

Next, came the painful, frustrating part; finding 12 years of pictures! I blame myself for not labeling files and organizing our online files better. This took forever, and I almost gave up on the whole yearbook idea!

Once I understood how to load pictures onto Picaboo's software; through some trail and error I was able to put layouts and pages together. I highly recommend that you watch their tutorial a few times to understand the process and how to use the software.

I am nearly done Devin's book. I just have a few more pictures to add. As I assemble 12 years of memories together, it seems like I'm finding more and more pictures to add because of all the things we've done. I'm looking forward to received my 8x12 book with 20 pages of memories.

If you're looking for a great present for your home school graduate, give this a try. If you want others to contribute to your book, the yearbook software allows one to do that as well. Its a great way for other to add their special memories of their favorite grad.

Just as a side note, I have no pictures  because I want this to be a surprise for Devin. His graduation is not until June. I'll do a follow up to this post and you can all have a peek.

Also, come back for a visit on April 29th for your chance to enter and win 1 of 5 Picaboo yearbooks.
