Basketball and Badminton Highlights

This past Monday, Sophie had an exhibition basketball game at Saint Mary's School in Okotoks. I didn't have the privilege of attending, but Dave went and took tons of pictures for me; so it was like I was there. The unfortunate part of this, is that her home school team has been practicing so hard since December, but because of the lack of funding, the tournament they were supposed to participate in, was cancelled. We were disappointed, and that little voice inside my head said..."Why bother going to practice?" I gave that small voice a quick throat punch (ahem)  and realized that it's just good for my kids to learn something without always expecting something in return.. Sophie enjoys basketball (she's a girl after my own heart) and she's good at it! So why would I take that away from her? I wouldn't! Not in a million years! Next up? Badminton begins in a few weeks.

Meanwhile yesterday, Emilie wrapped up her badminton club with CFL. They did have an "in-house" tourney with all the other elementary homeschoolers that participated. It was fun to watch, and I could tell she enjoyed herself. The pizza at the end was the best part, as it usually is, with these clubs. ;)  Kudos and thanks go out to the teachers that took the time to set up and teach the kids new skills. Basketball for Emilie will begin in two weeks. I can't wait to see how much her skills have improved!

Here are a few pictures from both days. The sisters rock don't they?
