Happy 2015 to everyone! On behalf of all of the Keenan Crew here at Sunoka Ranche, we wish you much health happiness and many blessings for the upcoming year.
I thought I would start off my 2015, by taking a quick trip down memory lane for 2014. I didn't blog as much as I had liked. Hopefully that will change this upcoming year.
Here are the top 10 highlights of last year in no particular order. It's a little bit of the good and the bad.
Number 1....
We started 2014 off with Sophie breaking her leg playing hockey. She missed the complete second half of the hockey season. When the cast was finally removed in mid-March, we almost missed the extra accessory. Nevertheless, she's back at it, playing hockey again, stronger and tenacious as ever!
Number 2...
We ended the hockey season with Devin and his broken tail-bone...and no...he did not break it playing hockey. It was an unrelated incident of Devin being a boy...jumping off some stairs and landing the wrong way on his behind. Thankfully after months of pain, we finally got a proper diagnosis from a local chiropractor who specializes in these types of injuries. He didn't break it as first expected, but he did jam his lower back pretty bad in the fall. With proper care over the summer, and yoga in the fall, Devin is back on his A game!
Number 3...
We decided to raise some bees! I cant have chickens...yet...still working on Dave for the chickens, but we jumped on the opportunity to raise 2 hives of bees! What a fantastic learning curve it was this year. This endeavor led to...
Number 4...
Honey! Homemade salves! Lip Balm! All natural! I was lucky enough to sell some of the salves and lip balm earlier in December at a friend's Christmas open house. The honey! Well? Let's just say Dave likes tea with his honey ;)
Number 5...
An invitation to spring branding at the UXL ranch. Never in a million years did I think that my family and I would be doing this! What an amazing experience! We met so many nice families, and learnt so much. Will we except and invite this year? You betcha!
Number 6...
Everything was awesome...when we had the chance to take in the LEGO festival at the BMO centre! This was Christian's dream come true event. I'm sure this was one of his biggest highlights of the year, as it was for the other three.
Number 7...
Christian getting his learner's license. Another highlight was Devin getting his driver's licence, but I didn't get a picture of that one. Now we have two more drivers in the family. A little daunting for this momma, but I'm slowly adjusting to the fact I've got two teenage boys.
Number 8...
Success at the Millarville Fair! Bailey won for wiener bobbing, Christian won for his photography, Devin and the girls won for their baking! Dave and I couldn't be more proud of all four kids.
Number 9...
The summer we bought a trampoline! I think the pictures do enough justice to the fun the kids had this summer with our new "toy". Even Dave and myself had a few opportunities to jump and relive our childhood ;)
Number 10...
The rink is up and running! We had such warm conditions for the most part of November and December, we didn't think we would be able to have a skating rink again. But this is Alberta, and now 1/2 of the back corral is now a rink. If you need us...you know where we will be!
Bonus...
Snow storm in September...'nuff said.
Well? This pretty much sums up 2014. Here's to 2015 and some more great memories.
