It has been two years since my last official camping post, so I thought I'd revive "Kamping with the Keenan's" (you can check out my past posts to see where we've ventured)
This past Monday, we returned from a week long glorious trip to Christina Lake, BC. with my sister in law and her family. Situated south of Castlegar BC, it has become one of our favorite places to camp. The campsites are far enough apart where you don't feel like you're in a parking lot, and the lake is pristine, refreshing and the second warmest in Canada. And the weather? Hot, Hot, Hot!
Most of our time was spent in the lake playing or on the lake shore relaxing, but we took some time out on Christian's birthday to go for a hike close to the campground. We also spent one afternoon biking along the old KVR rail bed which is now part of the Trans-Canada trail. The crew also spent a few evening fishing along the shore, but caught nothing. It was just way to warm even in the evenings.
Will we go back again? Yup! Its definitely a must on our camping list. I'm finding I enjoy Christina Lake more than Osoyoos Lake. It is more laid back, and less commercialized. Its a gem that not too many people are aware of...or just haven't checked out yet.
Maybe if I win the lottery...a nice prime piece of real estate along the lake will be on our to do list? A girl can dream. Right? Enjoy the few of many pics folks!
