Last weekend we took in Calgary's first ever LEGO fest event. This travelling show travels all across the USA, but this is the first time its crossed the border to the Great White North. I'm thinking Calgary was lucky to have the show because we were the first LEGO store open in Canada a few years ago...just a thought.
The kids had a blast, and so did the adults ;) we bypassed all the Duplo and wild eyed little kids in the mountain of LEGO, and hit the LEGO Mind storms, the 2 minute building challenge and the Master Academy. We split off for awhile, and the girls and I hit the LEGO Friends Display and the Disney Princess display while the boys were at LEGO CITY.
The best part...I think were the amazing displays of life size LEGO characters. The kids couldn't get enough "selfies" with these creations.
The whole show took us 4 hours to cover. I can honestly say we were tired and all LEGO-ed out. I took way to many pictures that would probably overload this blog. Christian...Mr. LEGO himself was exhausted! The 4 hours was just enough to see everything and do the hands on activities. Goodness know what would happened if we ever went to LEGO land! I'm sure that would be system overload.
| The boys met the LEGO Master builder who built all the sets( with his crew) for the LEGO movie. Christian is holding the original mini fig Emmett. |
