The Best Kept Secret...

As the school term starts to wrap up, and we begin to think about Advent and Christmas, I'd like to share in what I think was the best semester ever!

Way back in May, I reconnected with some home school moms that I've known for a while over a coffee one night. We were exchanging our life happenings, when one of the moms mentioned that they were going to start up in September these FABULOUS classes for their teens. Of course, I jumped at the idea, and honestly I think that this coffee meeting was a serendipitous moment in my life.

Christian is currently finishing off a Socratic Core class and Leadership Quest class for this term...which by far has been AMAZING! I've seen him grow into a thoughtful young man over the course of this semester. He's teamed up with 7 other students, and has developed a strong relationship with these wonderful, like minded teens. To check out what they have been up to, click on over here: juniorwisdomscholars.blogspot.ca  Mrs. C really has them using those brain cells!

Sophie is also involved with this groups of kids, but is doing the Apologia Biology course only at this time. I'm hoping to get her into the Socratic core next year.  She's in the same class as Christian, and she's been able to keep up with the older kids, and is learning high school biology!  Michelle is doing an amazing job teaching these kids using both text, and hands on activities . Both Christian and Sophie truly enjoy their Science course this year!

And definitely , let's not forget Emilie! Michelle who is seamstress extraordinaire ( I want to grow up and sew like her)  has generously opened her home to teach "the littles". Every Thursday, Emilie is in Young Explorers; learning with hands on activities, stories, art, science and music appreciation. To check out this fabulous class click on over here French Edition Two and here In Which Young Explorers Begins Again to see what they've all been up to as well.  And check out the gorgeous projects Michelle has been working on as well.
