Homeschool Photo Challenge: Geography

This week I'm joining in with The Canadian Homeschooler and their Weekly Photo Challenge: Geography.
I have to admit, since the beginning of our homeschooling journey, when it came to geography, we used Donna Ward's resources. Donna Ward has excellent resources when it comes to teaching Canadian geography. Its multi-leveled, so any age can use it...you just need to tweak here and there to make it fit your child's' needs.

                                        Geography, Province to Province

Its not to say that we haven't attempted and worked on world geography throughout the years. I've usually pulled resources from the Internet, and attempted to make a mini unit study on whatever interested the children.  This year, I dusted off a long forgotten resource that I had from awhile back. I had every great intention to use it with the boys when they were younger, but you know...those rabbit trails led to somewhere else. But I digress. This year the girls are working thought Trail Guide to World Geography by Cindy Wiggers.

Its a multi level course that can span over 36 weeks. There are mapping activities, atlas activities, research and note-booking. There is minimum prep time for mom ( at least that's what I find) and it's available through digital downloads as well. Its a great platform to do some extended research activities. The verdict to date? So far so good!

  1. Thanks for joining in. I love Donna Ward - she's so sweet. :) [She was my youth pastor's wife while I was a teen, and I loved having her as a mentor!] Looking forward to using that book with my boys soon.

Any program I can use with minimum prep is perfect in my opinion lol. :) See you next week!
