Monday Moments...Figuring Things Out

Listening to :: Emilie recite a poem she wrote for her novel study...I'm thinking I have to work on rhyme scheme with her ;)

Talking to my children about these books :: We began Novel studies again...ohhh how I missed it. Christian is reading Across Five Aprils, Sophie is reading Safe as Houses, and Emilie is reading The Whipping Boy

Thinking and thinking :: Lately I have felt "BLAH" about writing for this blog, or even posting pictures on Instagram. In the grand scheme of things...does anyone really care about whats going on in our lives, or what the kids are doing for homeschooling? Do I encourage or inspire? Have I bridged the distance between family/friends and us?  I really don't know...I'm wondering if its all worth it.

Carefully cultivating rhythm :: We are getting there. Last week was crazy busy with hockey, but I'm hoping this week is somewhat better. I made a school schedule for everyone at the beginning of the month,  and so far with a few tweaks they are sticking to it.

Learning lessons ::  Lets just say, I'm really trying hard to learn the finer arts of knitting and sewing. Enough said about that...for now.

Encouraging learning:: Devin has finals this week, and we also have piano exams. I'm trying to keep up everyones' spirits and courage, to make it through this week.

Crafting in the kitchen :: I'm usually on and off the wagon on this...meal planning. I'm on the wagon again, and am back at the meal planning. A lot of crock pot recipes this month. Poor crock pot...its definitely getting a workout!

Loving the moments :: I've enjoyed the last few evenings of doing nothing, and not going anywhere. We've managed to curl up on the couch as a family, and catch up on watching some movies.

Giving thanks :: Too many blessings as of late...too many to give thanks for...It might as well be another blog entry in itself!

Planning for the week ahead :: Well exam week will be in full swing starting tomorrow. I'll be back at my regular chauffeuring duties with driving Devin into town for his exams, and everyone else for piano exams, music lessons, hockey, and basketball practice. I"m thinking we will be doing more "car" schooling than home schooling this week.

A picture worth a thousand words::

Apparently, they HAD to see if it was real gold...
