Well, fall is upon us, and we are trying to get back into the swing of a normal schedule...if there is such a thing around here.
We got back from our two week vacation just this past Friday, and thought I'd share some pictures with you, while we are still basking in the glow of holidays.
Our trip started with a week in the Shuswap at our perennial favorite: Shuswap Provincial Park. The weather lovely, and we had lots of lake time and boat time. The kids learnt how to surf behind the boat, so that was the highlight of the week. We tried to do it ourselves first, but there was one key element we were missing, so Dave signed the kids up for lessons. Because the kids know how to wake board, surfing was a breeze.
The concept is a little different though than wake boarding. You don't have boots to strap in, its alot easier on your body and joints, you are not trying to cross the boat wake, and do tricks, and the boat has a bigger wake behind it, and the boat goes alot slower.
When the kids weren't surfing, we would just go boating and have ample opportunity to just hang out, swim, and just be.
There was one day, that we didn't hit the lake, but we did hit the hiking trail at nearby Rodrick Haig-Brown Provincial Park. The sights were beautiful, and there was much to learn about salmon conservation in the area.
Not a bad week, if I do say so myself. We were just getting wamed up for the fun were were going to have on Osoyoos lake the week after...
