Lethbridge, Alberta that is.
Saturday morning, we dragged our lazy behinds out of bed at 5:00 AM to drive Devin and Christian to Lethbridge for the Calgary Diocese Youth Rally. It was a great start to our day when we saw the HUGE snowflakes falling. Dave and I were so excited in anticipation for the 2 hour highway drive in miserable winter like conditions. What parents will do for their kids...sheesh!
Nevertheless, we braved the conditions, and dropped the boys off for the day. I had the whole day planned for the rest of us. After dropping the boys off, we headed to Picture Butte, so Dave could get some work in on this trip. We ended up at his oil battery. The weather cooperated with us, but it was sure windy. I managed to snap some nice vistas along the Oldman river valley and where the battery is.
We had lunch in Picture Butte, and headed back to Lethbridge looking forward to the rest of the afternoon. We hit the Galt Museum which overlooks the coulees towards the train bridge. I anticipated a tour of the museum (which we did) then walking along the paths towards Fort Whoop-Up, then driving over to the Japanese Gardens. It didn't happen because of this:
Can you see the trestle? Nope...nada...nothing. My plans went out the window...blown away in the Lethbridge wind.
We went to Starbuck's instead for hot chocolate and tea, and regrouped. What to do?
This is what Dave came up with, and how could 3 girls resist...really!!??
Yup, the Case Tractor and Farm Equipment Store. We also hit the UFA and the John Deere store.
By the end of this run of stores it was dinner time, and then we went to pick up the boys. They had a blast, but I bet you they were disappointed that they couldn't see the big combine and harvester us girls got to see ;)
