It's September 1, and I find myself making new resolutions. Some people do it January 1st, I find that I get a new perspective on life in September. New promises for a new homeschooling year; a fresh start. I go over in my mind, my goals, the kids' goals, and what I want to accomplish; not just academically, but as a family too. Nonetheless, I try to keep it real knowing, that life can be unpredictable. I also have Dave to gently remind me of that :)
As I take a HUGE breath, try to exhale slowly, embracing each moment, I am ready to open a new gate to a fresh new crop of ideas and hopes, I pray I won't make the same mistakes as in the past. As we continue our crazy, but fun journey I have the great satisfaction of knowing, we're working on a clean slate. It's like opening a brand new book, and smelling the fresh pages, and hearing the binding crackle as you turn to the 1st page.
We've all had time for some R and R and it's time to regroup as a family for our new challenges. Each one of the kids is different, with different ideas and perspectives, and as they grow they are ever changing not just physically, but spiritually, socially and mentally. That's why in the silence of my heart, I make new resolutions and promises; not just to myself but to them as well.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
