~Outside my window...Its sunny but as per our usual March, its COLD! We woke up to -21 degrees Celsius. Crazy thing though, that by tomorrow we will be above zero! Bring on the Advil extra strength for those migraines!
~I am thinking about...way to much; and that usually gets me into trouble! With longer days, I'm beginning to think about spring and gardening and the beautification of Sunoka Ranche. But alas we've had such wonky weather, that I don't want to think too far ahead. My ideas might not amount to much.
~ I am thankful for...a dear friend who invites my older kids to help out at her family greenhouse business. Last year, the boys went a few times to plant seedlings. This year however, they were neck deep in other commitments, but Sophie got the chance to go and help for the first time. I love homeschooling! Not only are my children doing the academics, but they are also learning life long skills; getting a chance to stretch their wings by doing other interesting activities.
~ In the kitchen...I get a break tonight with dinner prep. Devin is doing a lesson for his Food Studies course, so tonight we get to eat some homemade Hungarian chicken paprikas.
~Around the house...I want to organize so many little corners that I've neglected for the past few months. Can someone just kick me in the right direction so I can accomplish some form of orderliness?
~ I am learning...to let go. I am slowly beginning to realize that no matter how much you want something to go you way, it won't. Period.
~ I am looking forward...to the end of hockey season. I think hockey moms know what I'm talking about. ;) I'm looking forward to quiet weekday evenings where I'm not preparing dinner at a break neck speed, just so the kids can dine, dash and get to practice on time. I'm looking forward to reclaiming Saturday mornings and not be standing outside in sub-zero temperatures. Lets face it...this crazy hockey schedule is fine at the beginning of the season. But now? It's just getting old.
~ Favorite Quote right now... Never put a period where God puts a comma. Don't put a comma where God puts a period - Joanna Weaver.
~ A few plans for the rest of the week...Piano lessons, basketball practice, hockey practice and possible games. I'm hoping for a quiet Friday night curled up on the couch with my crew watching Big Hero 6.
~ A few pictures from my day...
I wish I had a picture of Sophie. She was so excited to "go to work" today!
I'm joining up today with http://thesimplewoman.blogspot.ca/ for her day-book and linkup. Check out her posts and other daybooks. :)
Hi! I enjoyed reading your Daybook. We homeschooled for many years. Our youngest will graduate from college in May. During the winter for two years, our Saturday mornings were spent at figure skating lessons for our younger two of three daughters. :) Happy Spring to you and yours!
