Thursday Thoughts

Well, you are probably still waiting for pictures from our camping trip to Christina Lake and Kalmalka Lake. You will all have to wait a bit longer...or you'll just have to use your imagination ;)  I still haven't figured out how to download the pictures from the video camera to the computer. Instruction manuals do not help...trust me. Too many wires...too many plug in's.

I will tell you this though. I managed to pull the boat all by myself... well...in the Yukon...up through the Salmo-Creston Pass, AND through the Kicking Horse Pass without alot of stress. You know I AM an expert as some of you can attest to the fact that I did pull our trailer home seven years ago ;) hehehe.

I will also tell you, that Dave let me made me drive the boat...on the water...in the lakes...for practise...a little more stressful...a little more nerve wracking...a few tears were shed...by me...not Dave. I`m not an expert by ANY means...but APPARENTLY, I will have more practise when we hit the Shuswap and Osoyoos in the upcoming weeks...please think of me ;)

But enough about me. I can tell you though that we did have a wonderful two weeks. Both weeks were hot, and we had lots of lake time with the boat. The kids did alot of swimming, tubing, knee boarding and wake boarding in Christina Lake with their cousins. By the end of the day, they were exhausted. Nevertheless, they were able to cap almost every night off, with a campfire.

Kalmalka Lake just outside of Vernon was amazing as well. Again, alot of lake time and boating. We visited with the cousins and the aunts and uncles in Kelowna, who were vacationing there the same time we were.  Serendipity  also played a huge part on this leg of our trip. We met up with some old friends of ours from Port Coquitlam that we haven't seen in seven years. We didn't know they would be there, and out of no where, they were there...camping with some other friends. The kids and parents had a great time again. We  hung out, laughed and joked, and wake boarded and tubed with these two families, just as if we saw them a week before. Friendships were renewed for all of us. The kids have been emailing and texting each other since we've returned from holidays. Dave an I both agree, that Vernon might be our new vacation destination. We enjoyed it more than Lake Okanagan. Kalmalka Lake is warmer, and is less crowded.

We are not done our holidays though...so stay tuned for more updates from our upcoming trip. And who knows, maybe by then, I'll have figured out this technology/picture thing and will be able to post pictures ;)
