Well, the weather has been something else,to say the least. The last few day have been full of thunderstorms, high winds and TONS of rain. It s pretty soggy out here on the ranch. We're wading around out here in boggy, sticky mud. Pothole Creek down in the hollow, north of us is now a muddy brown river overflowing on the banks of the farmer's field. I haven't checked our little creek, but it hasn't overflown...thank goodness. We did have a power outage though, and the internet was touch and go all day yesterday and last night as well.
The storms seem to be more intense out here, in my opinion, because we aren't in the city anymore. Not to say that it hasn't been bad in Calgary; its' just that when it's pitch black out here, and not a lot of noise, the sky lights up brighter, and the thunder rolls a little louder out here.
Last night, we sat upstairs on the boys window seat in the dark, and watched the amazing light show from the heavens. Emilie was a little skittish, but I just told her, as I have in the past with the other three, that the angels were bowling. Last night was just their year end glow in the dark tournament ;) It made us realize how small we really are in this big 'ol world. While we sat quietly watching "the show" we were distracted because of this sight:
What a big marshmallow! He hid with his "blanket" when we were watching the storm from the boys' room. And here I thought that the kids didn't like storms...Now I have to worry about this guy!
