Book Club Finale

Once in awhile you are blessed with a serendipitous moment, and everything just clicks. Today was one for those days. Today was an amazing  year end finish to our book club and writing club with our friends the MacEachan Family.  After reading our last book A Manual For Peace  earlier this month, we arranged for the author, Mr. Quilty,  to swing by for a visit this afternoon. Well...we all know the author. He is a teacher and coach at Centre for Learning, and he just published his first book.  He also writes a biweekly column From The Teacher's Desk for the Southern Gazette and the Gateway Gazette.

What a kind, generous man, to take the time out of his busy teaching scheduled and spend time with us, to talk about his book, his ideas, his views on life and his writing process.

The kids are immensely lucky to have such a great opportunity to meet people like him. These are the individuals, that as parents, we see as positive role models for our children. These are the individuals that we need in our childrens' lives to help shape their future, and to encourage them to live up to their potential.
As a parent, what more can you ask for?  Just another reason I LOVE homeschooling! Oh yeah...and  I can't wait until September to start book club and writing club again!
