....or the Krazy Keenan edition...part 1...
While everyone else, was busy building arks this weekend ready to sail away, we packed up our 5th wheel, and headed out of town with Janice, Mike and their littles joining us.
This was our 1st trip of the year. We headed to Mount Kidd, in Kananaskis Country. From the looks of the pictures, you can draw your own conclusions, that #1...we are totally nuts....and #2...we are seasoned campers (
with a furnace) #3...we're seasoned, nutty, crazy campers (
with a furnace).
While we were packing the trailer Thursday/Friday, we had a hunch that the weather would not be conducive to our camping...so we were prepared with rubber boots, mitts, toques, jackets, a rainbow array of sweatshirts, 20 billion pairs of socks ( OK that's a little exaggerated)...and 2 topped up propane tanks...for the furnace.
Nevertheless, we had a great weekend. There were many cancellations and no shows at the campground ( hmmm...no idea why), so it was nice and quiet. The kids had a blast...as usual. The weather DID improve, and by Sunday, despite the remnants of snow, it was a sunny and balmy 15 degrees. The kids even got the chance to ride their bikes, and race their remote cars around.
While eating breakfast and brunch Sunday...outside...in the sunshine... we were serenaded by the haunting, reverberating, echoes of mini avalanches....yup you read right...avalanches...( we could see them and hear them...but we were NO WHERE NEAR THEM)
So...this is how we began our camping season...in style...in the snow no less. Stay tuned this summer for more adventures with Kamping with the Keenan's. I'm hoping we'll have nicer weather this year for our trips.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!
