We made our way down to Saint Mary's Cathedral today, for a Saint Patrick's Day mass sponsored by the Calgary Irish Society. The Calgary Irish Choir sang before mass, then during mass as well. Besides traditional Irish hymns, sung in English, they also sang in Gaelic, which the kids found to be "really cool".
Later in the afternoon, we tried our hand at home, making leprechauns from clay. As you can see from the picture below, a few look like they had a few too many Guinness beers :) Nonetheless, the kids had fun. After running around dropping off for hockey, and choir practise, we headed home, for dinner, and Shamrock Shakes. ( Remember those from McDonald's ?)
Question: What do you get, when a husband "tries to help" because the ice cream is not blending properly in the blender for your Shamrock Shakes?
Anyone? Anyone? Can you take a guess? Anyone?
Answer: Green ice cream EVERYWHERE.
Picture Dave, with a wooden spoon in a blender, with the lid OFF. That's all I have to say about that. I just wish I had a camera. Ice cream in Dave's face was the highlight of my day :)
Anyways, we hope everyone had a great day, and we'd love to hear how your day went with Green beer, jello, cupcakes or whatever way green you celebrated!
